A new bookkeeping practice on Florida's Emerald Coast
Scarlet Ibis Bookkeeping and Business Services opened in May 2025 in Niceville, Florida. It handles bookkeeping for small businesses in Niceville, Valparaiso and Destin, and works with clients across the US remotely. The practice focuses on service businesses and the construction trades, and is led by a Certified Bookkeeper (Association of Public Bookkeepers) and QuickBooks Online and Payroll Certified ProAdvisor with more than 23 years in accounting.
A small business looking for a bookkeeper usually wants to know three things: what the bookkeeper handles, whether they understand this kind of business, and who they will actually be talking to. The site needed to answer all three and lead to one action, booking a free consultation.
SLIDEFACTORY designed the website and built it as a custom WordPress theme.
Design
The palette starts from the scarlet ibis itself: a deep red for headings, calls to action and the credentials band, set against warm dark sections and plenty of white space. A serif display face gives the headings a steady, professional tone, and a clean sans-serif keeps service descriptions easy to read.
The home page opens with the location and the offer, followed directly by four credentials: 23+ years of experience, QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor, Certified Bookkeeper and local plus remote service. From there it moves through the ten services, the three industries the practice serves, an introduction to the bookkeeper and the reasons local businesses choose the firm, and ends on a consultation form.
The same red closing band, "Book a Free Consultation", ends every page, so a visitor reading about payroll or catch-up bookkeeping always has the next step in front of them.
A WordPress theme built around services and industries
We built a custom WordPress theme for the site. Services and industries are their own content types, so each of the ten services and three industries has a structured page with the same layout: what the client gets, what the service includes, who it is for, how the work is done, related services and a set of FAQs. Adding a service means filling in those fields, not designing a new page.
The theme also covers the blog, a contact page with office hours and a service-area map, and structured data for search. Every layout is responsive, with the service list, credentials and contact form reworked for phone screens.
Result
Scarlet Ibis launched with 19 pages (home, about, services, industries, contact, blog, ten service pages and three industry pages) and a blog that now holds 15 articles. The owner adds services, industry pages and posts through the WordPress editor without touching the design.
